Friday, March 14, 2008 Fairport, New York – Soleo Communications, a leading provider of carrier-grade solutions for information service providers, today announced that it has signed an exclusive worldwide license agreement with Blake Bookstaff regarding patents that pertain to its Intercept Transfer Service. Soleo offers this service to carriers seeking to provide merchant-paid Directory Assistance for calls made to discontinued numbers. Bookstaff had been awarded patent number 7,227,936 for the method and system for providing directory assistance to erroneous telephone calls and 7,187,761 for the method and system for providing advertising to telephone callers. Bookstaff and Soleo are collaborating to produce additional continuations to these patents. "The merchant-paid Directory Assistance market is growing rapidly.
These patents take into consideration the fact that carriers desire to
monetize calls to discontinued telephone numbers," said Dan Gallagher,
President and CEO of Soleo. "These patents, along with other
intellectual property in our portfolio, will allow us the ability to offer
highly-differentiated information services." "Soleo has a strong tradition of providing high-value information services for carriers," said Blake Bookstaff, the inventor of these patents. "We strongly believe in their vision for Intercept Transfer Service." Intercept Transfer Service allows carriers to route calls placed to discontinued business numbers, which otherwise would be handled with a standard audio announcement, to an ad-sponsored information service. The free information service allows local businesses to communicate the uniqueness of their products or services to callers that were originally calling other merchants that have since gone out of business or otherwise discontinued service. Intercept Transfer Service is another feature in Soleo's Hosted Intercept Service that offers custom announcements, call completion and split referral services on calls to businesses and residences that have moved, changed numbers or discontinued service.About Soleo Soleo Communications, Inc. |
